Rhonda Hicks
As retirees, Rhonda Hicks and her husband dreamed of traveling. The intense back pain from herniated disks made her miserable and traveling impossible.
After consistently taking over-the-counter medications for the pain and a variety of treatment options to no avail, Rhonda believed surgery was her final option. Fortunately, for Rhonda, her physician sent her to the physical therapy.
Pengfei and his student, Kayla, created a tailored program to address the herniated disks. During therapy, he was able to reduce inflammation and irritation while increasing her mobility and strength within her lower back, hips, and SI joint.
Rhonda states, "I can honestly say I am pain-free and will be doing my exercises at home to avoid further issue." Since discharge, Rhonda is playing with the grandkids, gardening, and preparing to travel.
We are so pleased to hear about your progress Rhonda. Thank you for choosing us on your rehabilitation journey.
Lonnie Harper
Lonnie Harper is resilient and not going to let Parkinson's disease keep him from his favorite hobby - fishing. Having balance and walking issues brought him to the LSVT BIG program at our center. Lonnie's neurologist made the referral to physical therapy.
Physical Therapist Peyton Johnson taught Lonnie the basics movements that LSVT uses to help steady him. Lonnie's efforts and hard work have paid off. Peyton was patient and firm correcting Lonnie throughout the therapy process.
"I feel great," Lonnie said. "I continue fishing and walking every day."
We are glad to hear physical therapy has helped keep you at the fishing hole, Lonnie. Thank you for choosing us on your rehabilitation journey.
Cloyce Barrett
Cloyce Barrett had spent decades of time working on military aircrafts. Parkinson's disease, however, put Cloyce in a position to retire and worry about more permanent disabilities.
Worried about shaking, cramping, walking and automatic motor skills, Cloyce looked to physical therapy to help him improve and gain function.
"I need help identifying my limits and want to work on exercises that help me function better and improve my motor skills," he said. "I expect the natural trends of Parkinson's to continue, but hope that continued therapy will keep my own active lifestyle in the future."
As Cloyce shared his hopes, we are reminded of the power pf physical therapy. Thank you for choosing us on your rehabilitation journey.
